Dr. John Hao Rong > Dental Implants
A dental implant is a dental restoration procedure in which an artificial tooth root is surgically inserted into the jaw at the site of a missing tooth. The artificial tooth root is called implant and it is designed to give strong foundation to the replacement tooth or bridge. It is a prosthetic solution that uses a titanium post to replace a missing tooth.
Dental implant is the most reliable way to replace a missing tooth.
Dental implant can be a choice of treatment for patients with following dental problems:
Dental implant typically requires a couple of visits to Genuine Care Dental.
During the first consultation, Dr. Rong will thoroughly examine patient’s mouth and may take some X-rays to decide the line of treatment. Once decided, the treatment plan is discussed with the patient and his approval is taken to start the treatment. A dental implant is surgically placed in the jawbone on the site of missing tooth under local anaesthesia. The implant is left for up to six months to heal and integrate into the jaw bone. If required, temporary denture may be given to the patient during this time.
Now the next visit is decided almost 6 months after implantation.
In the second phase, implant is uncovered and a small healing collar is attached to it. This is followed by impression taking and connection of post to the implant. Finally the replacement teeth are made over the posts. This may require few visits to give the most apt fitting to the replacement tooth.
Now you are ready to flaunt your beautiful smile without any misses.
